Acoustic Guitar June 2004

(June 2004) After several years on the Canadian and European markets, Walden Guitars has made its instruments available to US customers. Created in collaboration with California guitar designer Jon Lee, the instruments seek to provide a high level of performance for little money. The entry-level Natura series offers guitars with solid spruce tops, mahogany or rosewood back and sides, and nitrocellulose finishes. Available in 500,600, and 700 series designations (with increasingly elaborate appointments), the instruments come in grand auditorium and dreadnought sizes, with optional cutaways and Fishman electronics. An excellent value for budget-minded fingerstylists, the company's top-of-the-line G3000 (pictured) has a solid spruce top, solid rosewood back and sides, and a graphite reinforced neck.
