"My choice is the Walden D1030. Besides her plain but premium workmanship and her likeable dim finish, I especially like her sound character. Also in the soft tones the guitar stitches with a warm response but never looses punch and power to louder strummings. I´m very satisfied with this guitar!"

Johannes Stankowski was born in Cologne and discovered the acoustic guitar at the age of 6. Shortly after this he began to compose and to record his own pieces. After releasing some under his own direction and to a small audience he got together with Simon Werle for a film music project in 2003 and they started working together as the electro pop-duo Werle & Stankowski.

In 2004 their first release “Your Show” emerged on the independent label Haute Areal. This album didn´t directly make them world famous, but it helped creating a critical mass that consistently noticed Werle & Stankowski. Countless concerts and festival gigs in Germany, Austria and Switzerland followed as well as international gigs in Toronto (Canadian Music week) or Groningen (Eurosonic Festival) and club concerts in Milan or London.

Werle & Stankowski supported bands like Blackmail or 2Raumwohnung, the German TV station WDR booked them to compose the lit. Cologne and diverse songs of the press darlings are on diverse compilations. Amazingly Johannes Stankowski finished a luthiers education in Newark/ UK during all that. With the beginning of 2007 Stankowskis career came to a first climax. The major label EMI signed Stankowski and released the album “Listen to Werle & Stankowski”, and Werle & Stankowski delivered the backdoor title song to the award-winning German film “Jagdhunde”.
