Artist: Andres Roots
"With a great acoustic sound for the studio and the more intimate venues, the T550 is also small-bodied enough to avoid feedback issues when equipped with a pick-up and plugged in for the big stage. It is reliable, versatile and has a tone entirely its own - just what I've been looking for.”
Andres' "Comin' Home"
Rated "one of the best six stringers in European blues" by Colombia's Historias del Blues and "a stylish and versatile writer" by Finland's Blues News magazine, the Estonian guitarist/songwriter Andres Roots currently leads a loose association of musicians billed as the Andres Roots Roundabout whose new album "Leigh's Spider Jam" hit the stores in September 2011.
Born in the USSR in 1976, Roots played his first gig in Denmark in 1995 and co-founded the alt.blues trio Bullfrog Brown in Tartu, Estonia in 2003. The band quickly earned cult status in their native country, securing airplay across five continents, playing hundreds of shows from the Baltics to the UK and sharing stages with the likes of Honeyboy Edwards, Deltahead and Gurf Morlix.
Recorded largely with a Walden T550, Roots 2010 solo debut "Roundabout" featured collaborations with Eric "Red Mouth" Gebhardt (USA), Bottleneck John (SWE), Dave Arcari (UK) and Black River Bluesman (FIN) and was declared "Best European Blues Album" of the year by Canada's Blues Underground Network. Hailed as "a hugely entertaining album that has far more appeal than its blues credentials would suggest" (The Music Critic, UK), it yielded three top 3 videos and a number 1 in "Redecoration Day".
