Artist: Tim Renton

I have played guitar all my life and have a habit of becoming bored on holiday and having to either take a guitar with me or to buy one in a local music shop. Music shops in Crete can be the local electrical store, I have guitars and bazoukis from all over the place! So it was in Pescara, despite the balmy Adriatic weather and the palm tree-lined coastal glory of this side of Italy, I had got to this point.

In Pescara we found a music shop and I was offered three guitars, the first I don’t remember, the second was a Martin and the third was “the green one”. I was naturally drawn to the Martin which was delightful but stretched the holiday budget a little too far. And then the green one….a Walden D351SG which was just wonderful, had a more balanced range than the Martin and played so easily. I still have this guitar now equipped with Fishman pick up, and it usually accompanies me on holiday where it is used for song-writing.

Since then I have acquired a Walden G630CE which I now use as my main stage and recording acoustic guitar. It is absolutely beautiful, so easy to play, very light yet with a very precise sound and good balance between bass and top notes. With a bit of care chords are smooth and “sing”.
